This I Believe
As a child of the end of the 20th and beginning of the 21st century, like most, I’ve grown accustomed to technology in my everyday life. Most importantly, at least to me, Video Games. Video games have been part of my life for years now, and I’ve played a large amount of them, and so far, it’s been just awesome in my opinion. But every so often events happen that just confuse me. Some person, or persons, snap and go on a murderous rampage for what can be conceived as no true reason at first. While, I don’t agree with any of these people and think what they’ve done is cowardly, what does confuse as well as anger me is where the blame is placed, in Entertainment, majority of the time, in Video Games.
Columbine, as well as countless others have been blamed on video games because said perpetrators played some type of violent video game. Even the most horrible and brutal shooting in US history, the Virginia Tech Massacre, was almost blamed on video games. These things drive me nuts because I truly believe, no, know, that video games to not equal real world violence.
There are millions if not billions of gamers out there. Each year we played many different games, including ones that are violent. I personally have played countless violent video games, ranging from run and gun to pure murder simulator type of game (that was horrible mind you, but I still tried it). I have never even been in a fight in my entire life. I have friends who also play these violent games and they too have never murdered a person. There are again, millions of gamers who play these games and not once have killed a person, let alone even hurt a person.
Even the studies on the subject are truly just plain stupid. Showing nothing more then short term effects, saying that playing violent video games makes you violent. In one study they even used a toy, meant to be beaten senseless, as a judge to see if these kinds were violent after playing games. A toy, which was built to be punched and kicked, used to study violence. Am I the only one who sees the stupidity in that? Not to mention again, these are all short term effects and never shown after say, a week, maybe even a day.
Video games are nothing more then a new form of entertainment, and like Television, Movies, and even Books before it, its getting a rap sheet of lies saying how it will corrupt our youth and destroy civilization. In all documented cases of games being said to have caused violence, lets take another look. Lets look at the Columbine boys. They played Doom, but did that cause them to lash out like that? Or perhaps it had something to do with the students around them. Maybe their home lives weren’t that great. Think about it, why target students, and how were these kids buying guns if their loving parents were always around them.

Video games do not cause violence, and should stop being blamed for horrible acts.

This I believe that I have been lead to live a foolish existence.

As a child I was foolishly told, "reach for the stars", "you can be anything you want", and other clichés children are told to jumpstart their imagination. And I did, everyday I was consumed with a new idea or life plan that was going to be the greatest job ever. My parents only ever encouraged in these adventures, secretly hoping that I would always carry this over the top excitement about adulthood. They encouraged me to join clubs and experience new things and to never take it for granted.
As I entered high school I played sports, they were my night and day and I was going pro. People often entertained my dream with me saying, “you can do it”,” go for it”; things I later learned were said in place of reality.
When it became time for the idea of college imagine my surprise when I had no idea where to go or what to go for. Suddenly I was scrambling to come up with any major listed. I suddenly had people telling what I could be or what I should be. And suddenly my imagination and belief in myself diminished. How great was I that I couldn’t even come up with a career? Where had my drive for greatness and excitement gone? And why had my parents let me build spaceships out of boxes and pretend to fly to the moon. Clearly they should have been teaching me how to prepare taxes or buying me the business journal instead of comics. I felt betrayed, why had my family let me fail like this, especially at this crucial point in life? I was not a happy camper!
After countless conversations with the counselor and my parents about careers, jobs, etc, I ran into an old friend who had graduated college and had just got a start at a great company in sales. I explained my dilemma and to my surprise she said, “so what”. Stunned I asked her to expand. She simply explained to me that most colleges have the same schedules and majors and that most graduates’ change their major 3 or 4 times and that was normal. She had been adamant about becoming a English teacher and instead found she completely fell in love with sales and advertising. “You never know till you try” she stated, “after all the first two years are gen education requirements and by then you’ll understand yourself a lot more.”
I decided she must know more than my parents or high school counselor combined so I took her advice. I picked a school based on its state ranking, location, and a few other things and went. I started in the psychology department, then sociology, and ended up in criminology, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. The more classes I took the more I realized that once again I held a drive for life. I would lay in bed and imagine what my life would be life and what exciting job I would get, the only difference this time is that it wasn’t just a dream.
I learned yet again that my parents had been right when encouraging me to “reach for the stars”, or “go for it”. They had encouraged me to think and believe and to want for something. And although my dreams have changed and I have learned to take a more realistic approach to life I still lay in bed and dream and it makes me happy to know that when I wake up in the morning I can achieve that dream.

This I Believe

I believe this country is headed to hell in a hand basket.

The United States of America was found on Biblical Principles and was a honest, hard working land. Children helped with the chores, and girls did the housework with their mothers. The boys went to school then helped the father with the outside work, the “mans work”. The women married young and had many kids, who then learned the same stuff as the parents. Money was worth more and was valued differently. I hear stories about gas being 25 and 50 cents per gallon, or going to the store and buying a week worth of groceries for $2.50 or less. Parents let their kids run around the neighbor hood and play in the forest with out the worry that someone else would kidnap them or kill them or rape their daughters. Men stood up for what they stood for, and the women stood behind their husbands. Divorce was unheard of, and abortion was not even an option. English was the language of the country not Spanish. The Bible was taught in schools as truth, and the National Anthem of the United States of America was sung word for word as it was written. They didn’t have all this child safety stuff that is around today and they all lived just fine. Crimes were punished according to the severity, and the death penalty was enforced. Jail for life was not so popular. This country won wars and knew how to fight, they were not as interested in making deals with the enemy, or letting them off easy after killing hundreds of sons, fathers and family members. The USA was aware that the other countries around the world tortured our people, so they weren’t afraid to do the same thing. They know the other countries citizens knew they could face torture when they joined their army and if given the chance would kill one of our people within a second. Now all that said, what has happened to this country? Children aren’t disciplined because they might get into trouble with the government. That is beyond ridiculous! That is part of the reason kids and young adults today are spoiled brats who if they don’t get what they want when they want it, will do stupid stuff in order to get it. They have no chores because it might hurt them psychologically in some way or another. This is the dumbest thing I have heard! Money is worth much less than what is was and everything keeps going up. Gas for instance is up around $4.00 per gallon; I remember when it was $1.50 only a few years ago. People are greedy and that is the only reason gas and supplies are so expensive. They did just fine on what they had back then, what happened? The crime rate is through the roof; People are terrified to let their children out of their sight for fear of them being stolen, raped, and killed. Today people get married one year and decide they no longer love each other and get divorced they next year. What is with that? You don’t fall out of love. If you say you fell out of love you were never in love in the first place so you shouldn’t have gotten married. This country which was found on English and the Bible no longer has English as the language because of all the illegal aliens in this country that come over illegally (against the law) are demanding that we have everything in Spanish, so they can understand it. They are ILLEGAL who cares! They shouldn’t be in this country let alone demand money, rights, or anything else. The majorities of the crimes are done by illegal and when they get put in jail, if they get put in jail, have it better than the lower class income that put in an honest days work to get paid. They would love to be living like the people who killed their sister, brother, or child. Jails have TV, free schooling, free food not only once but three times per day. Free gym, and activities are provided and they people they harmed or stole from are the people paying for it. That makes no sense at all. Furthermore the Bible and Christ aren’t even mentioned because it might offend somebody, but anything that offends a Christians okay. For a country so bent on fairness and niceness this is not right. What used to be the greatest country is not only going to hell, but is already halfway there.
Don’t even mention HOMOSEXUALITY!

I believe that people should live to their highest potential or greatness
Possible. Every human being has an inherent greatness that no other being has.
If everybody lives to their potential the world will be a better place. So, it starts with
Me trying to live to my potential. As a kid, I hated to read. Now I am reading about
a book a week. I am reading books in philosophy, religion, self-improvement,
Business, public speaking, marketing, and some fiction books. I truly believe the
more you know about yourself , the more you can help this world to become a better
place. Do you know that the top 4% of the American wealthiest people reads about
20 books a year. The bottom 96% reads about 1.9 books a year! So, I am on a good
pace. The goal is not to be wealthy, but to use my wealth to help people use their
potential to the highest form

This I believe

This I believe… I believe that creativity is one of the most important factors of being human. Creativity is essential to happiness; it has relieved my stress and helped me overcome many obstacles over the years. Being creative and doing something with it is so critical to happiness there is no word to describe it.
Ever since I was a young boy my mother always told me to be myself, be different, and be creative. I have brought this with me through the years and it has brought me nothing but happiness. The fact that I could create something that no one else has and embrace my creativity through it was awe-inspiring. I haven’t stopped creating even to this day.
Creativity has a healing effect. If you are depressed, try drawing or writing something. You might be amazed that painting a picture, instead of popping a Xanax, can be more helpful to your mental state. It seems people just get it into there mind that, “ Hey I can’t draw because it doesn’t look like a Dali” or “ I can’t write because it doesn’t sound like Shakespere” well that’s the beauty of it, it is yours! Your writing or drawing doesn’t have to look or sound like anybody else’s but yours.
Creativity is in everyone and everything. Just look at a building the next time you see one, somebody created that. Somebody thought it up, drew it, and built it; all ways of letting out creative energy. If you believe in God even he got a little creative when creating the earth! If your more of an evolution kind of person, well nature got a little creative too, now didn’t it? My point is creativity is all around you; you just have to look for it and embrace it!
Take the time to appreciate your thoughts and ideas and you will find that spark to set you off on a creative adventure. Let your brain roll and the ideas flow! You will be surprised as to what you can come up with in just a few minutes. Put it down on paper, draw it, sing it, and be it! If you just give yourself the benefit of the doubt you could be the most creative person in the universe, in fact, you are! These ideas have helped mold me into the person I am today. Be universal and think differently!
I believe that creativity runs through the veins of every human being on this earth. We are all bursting with creative energy or potential creative energy just waiting to be tapped. I feel that if people would just let go and fall into that creativity we would have a lot less lemmings in this world and a lot more individuals. We have all heard the saying “ Everyone is different.” But, it seems, not many people take to that and we end up with a colorless world. There is a reason we don’t have black and white TV’s anymore… because it was boring! We need color, we need individuals, and most of all we need creative people!

THIS I BELEIVE

Today in life I follow many different things and topics but one of them that sticks out the most to me as of right now would have to be gas prices. Gas affects everyone in the world everyday. With the recent inflation of gas prices people were forced to make many cutbacks on their spending in order to accommodate for the price of gallon of gas. I believe that increase rise in price is constantly hurting out country and economy in the U.S. It causes companies to lose business, such as those that transport goods on big rig trucks, because the price is simply to much to transport it compared to the actual profit that they receive. I recently went on a road trip on the last break that we had so I received some first hand experience of how bad gas is actually becoming. Going through state-to-state the inflation varied anywhere from $4.69 a gallon to $3.99 a gallon. Not only does it affect people on the road it also hurts our airplane businesses, just thinking about how many gallons of gas one airplane holds is outrageous, and with the rise of the prices it causes theses companies to also make some cutbacks. Usually you would get a complementary soda and bag of peanuts on every flight, but given the circumstances now some of them don’t even offer this courtesy anymore. Another thing is that many places no longer do non-stop flights, instead they stop off more times trying to pick up as many passengers as possible without wasting gas. I think that making all of these businesses have to cutback on all of their services because gas is becoming outrageous is going to eventually send us into another depression. I believe that the gas companies, even though there not supposed to, get together from time to time and decide how they want to price what they have. My theory is that over the summer they raised all the prices really high so people would have to pay more, and now they are lowering them back down so now everyone will want to keep their tanks filled all the time, fearing that they price may shoot right back up. Low gas prices keeps people buying gas all the time now. I think that the government needs to step up and do something about this because it is getting out of hand, they are almost like a monopoly just with several different names for their “one” company. Gas is golden in this day in age and should be looked at carefully by everyone.

This I Believe: Own Yourself
Looking back over my life I have come to realize that the only person that can change your life is yourself. All the people and places you are exposed to can influence you, but it is only you who decides how and to what degree. Too many people this day have to have someone to blame for everything in their lives. I am not excluded from this group. For several years I spent my life always asking myself why things were the way they were and how did they get that way. I blamed a lot of the bad things in my life on other people and things. Recently, I have changed my mind. Someone has come into my life and changed my perspective on everything. He strongly believes in the age old sayings of “Life is what you make it” and “You only live once.” I had never really thought much on the subject and always thought the people that said those kinds of things were just blowing smoke. Then I took a good hard look at everything and realized; he was right. No matter how tough things can get, constantly worrying about them will only stress you out. How much time do we waste worrying about things we cannot change? I used to get angry and depressed and would lash out at my family and friends. Do they deserve that? No. They should only get my best, all the time. Sometimes that is harder than you can imagine, and so I strive to improve upon this every day. I still have times when my temper gets the best of me, but I no longer blame it on outside influences. I try to take responsibility for what I do and who I am.
Keeping positive about things isn’t always an easy thing to do for most people. Its hard not to focus on the negatives when that is all most people hear about. How often in conversation do you hear someone complain about something? Now, how often do you hear someone randomly say something positive that is going on in his or her life? I bet it isn’t that often. The media is the same. In the news headlines it is always the horror and drama that is the main attraction. The happier stories are small, if they are even there to begin with. People seem to thrive on gossip and negativity. I suppose it has a lot to do with perspective. Most people feel somewhat better about their lives when they know there is someone who is doing worse than they are. On that same note, they also know that there are people out there who have things better, and they envy that.
I am not a religious person at all, but the Serenity prayer has always spoken to me, even more so in the last year or so. "God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference." Life really is that simple. Hard times will come, but as long as you do your best, you will persevere. Surround yourself with people who support you and you can do anything, but take ownership of your life.

“This I Believe”

I believe that children are now being raised by toys, but more so our little girls. Growing up, I possessed (or knew someone who did) the “girl” toys: Sky-Dancers, Barbie dolls, My Little Pony, a Make-Believe dress-up box, and a Cabbage Patch Kid that was custom made to be my identical twin (if I were a Cabbage Patch Kid). However, instead of rounding up the girls on my street to play “Tea Party”, I was attached at the hip to my Sega Genesis, Crayola crayons and doctor play sets.
I think it is rather upsetting that younger girls are lacking role models who aren’t rock stars like Miley Cyrus, or have over sized eyes with star-shaped pupils and a closet of infinite shoes like their favorite Bratz doll. Last winter, I worked as a sales representative at the Lillian Vernon Corporation, a company famous nationwide for their wonderful personalized products. About ninety percent of our customers were either parents or grandparents purchasing toys for their children. There were more toys for girls than there were for boys, however most of the toys for girls were either from The Cheetah Girls, Disney Princesses, or the “classic” items that even I would probably buy for my daughter (tea sets, slumber tents, etc.).
While it is nice that these popular brands represent femininity, I believe that these toys are subconsciously teaching our girls invalid life lessons. Barbie will always be popular, but I miss the Barbie of the nineties. This Barbie was a doctor, veterinarian, world-class Olympic figure skater, corporate business executive, and even owned her own franchise restaurants. Our new 2000s Barbie is now enjoying her time vacationing around the world, and buying out fashion stores. Then you have the Bratz dolls whose sole purpose is to do nothing more than exist to wear trendy clothing, and drive their free luxury cars with boys just as superficial as they are.
But I don’t think parents purchase these toys with sheer ignorance of the lessons they make teach their children, but just so they can have a sense of nostalgia when they become old enough to miss their childhood.

Respect
Everyone has heard the saying, “Respect Your Elders.” That is a saying that I strongly agree with. Our “Elders” are the ones who went through hell and sacrificed a lot in order for us to have what we have today. But, what happens when you give that expected respect, but in return you get nothing but negative respect. Just as much as we need to respect them, I feel that some respect should be given back.
I understand that we wouldn’t have what we have today if it wasn’t for our older generations. The sacrifices and hardships that these people felt must never be forgotten. One of the reasons our society today is doing so well is because of what we learned in our past. The Great Depression taught us so much about money and how quickly it can loose value. Certain laws were passed for the stock markets that keep this catastrophe from happening again. If our “older” generation hadn’t gone through it, could you imagine if we went through one today for the first time. With the economy like it is today, I don’t think we could bounce back from a depression. Respect is definitely in need of being shown when it comes to this matter.
But what happens when you know that most of the “older” generation thinks that the “new” generation is mostly naïve. While that may be true for some, it is most definitely not true about all. With the advancements that the “newer” generation has made, I think that some of the respect should start shifting towards us. Without these advancements, there is no way a person could survive in today’s world. At least give us the credit that is due, just like you expect the credit due to you.
Not every teen or pre-teen is into drugs and violence. With something in the news everyday about teens murdering or robbing people, it is hard for one not to think this. A good example of this today is signs in stores that don’t allow unaccompanied minors or only one minor at a time. I have heard someone get kicked out of a store just for this reason, even though they had no intentions at all of stealing. The main point is you cant let one or two people determine how you feel about a whole group of people.

I was always raised to believe in one supreme being, the creator of all, the one we call Our Father, the One who had given us his beloved son for us to praise and love, the lord that we all call our savior that we all have faith in especially during times we all need inspiration and hope. As I grew older, I have learned that all these biblical stories are just stories, also known as the greatest story ever told. Everything that we all have been raised to believe as far as religion has been said to be a parody to similar stories that date back thousands of years Before Christ. This is suppose to be considered "The Truth."
I know a lot of people do not want to believe or even try to hear what I'm saying but I have seen documentaries and studied this for myself and believe me it is very shocking to see, especially to those who are very religious. This had confused me for a long time and I started to become skeptical about my own religion. One thing I do know is that i will never turn my back on my religion because keeping faith is what keeps me going strong.
This I believe.

The Power of Speech
This I Believe
I believe that the power of speech is the greatest gift imaginable. Individuals who have the power of articulation can accomplish amazing things. They can also do great damage with their words. Great speakers in history include the likes of Martin Luther King Jr., Adolf Hitler, and Frederick Douglass. Subject does not seem to be as important as the individual’s ability to deliver the content.
Jim Jones used his ability to articulate to imprison the minds of hundreds of people. His power was so great that he convinced hundreds of people to kill themselves and their children. Both Hitler and Napoleon used their ability to vocalize to gain power and disguise their faults. Franklin D. Roosevelt gave millions of Americans hope through his fireside chats. Martin Luther King Jr. once made millions of African Americans believe that there were better days when it did not seem that way.
Today, political issues aside, the clear differences in their ability to verbalize separate the presidential hopefuls even further. It is clear to any individual, regardless of political affiliation that Barack Obama is a much better speaker than John McCain. The ability and confidence to speak seems to translate into the ability to lead and flourish. Even if Obama is wrong on every single political issue, it sounds good.

“What I Believe”
How fortunate. The belief of man and woman within an environment full of corruption and envy towards success. To believe in life and it’s many achievements. To believe in death and its despair. I hear from those who bend the truth as if they knew it all. I have also heard from those who “spit” at Uncle Sam and rebel against the democracy we see today. No need to blame the president (even though the puppets pull the strings). We accept the ever-growing persona we see in entertainment, literature and around the corner. There is no Batman. No Superman. No supernatural hero with mystical powers and psychological mind machines. We see and hear what we believe and accept it. Following the criteria’s given to us from home or school to improve our lives, we all so “lightly” blend in with the rest of society.
Robots… wake up, go to work, pay bills; wake up, go to work, and pay bills. Understand. People remind themselves that they are free, yet no second-guess on buying a new car. Personally, I do a lot, but I watch others more. Not referring to television or celebrities, I talking about everyday individuals. Walk around and watch. Time waits for no one.

This i believe

What makes you who you are? Have you ever compared yourself to your parents? Looked at who your parents were and how they raised you? They are the reason you are who you are today. Granted there are other factors such as friends and media, but the main factor is how you were raised.
Too many children today are brought up in broken households. Rose by people who are not ready for a child. If a parent doesn’t have any education on how to raise a child they resort to what they know. And that is how their parents raised them. I don’t mean to offend anyone, but a lot of the time people were not raised correctly. However we all have different Ideas of how we should raise our children, and believe it’s the right way.
I believe that in our society we should include more education on parenting. Some high schools offer courses on parenting; but women, who are in the class because of friends, mostly attend them. I believe that parenting courses should be a mandatory subject. Children are the most fragile creatures, which grow up in the image of their parents and influence countless people. If we are creating influences shouldn’t we create the right ones? Our belief in making a better world rests with our children. To see a child grow up and become adults can be one of the most beautiful things we will see in our lives. It is up to the parents whether or not they become beautiful creatures. Our children are all we leave behind that truly matter.
Our children are the most important things to us. If we can only raise them right I believe society will improve. If you truly want to influence the world and don’t know how, teach your children what you know, raise them right, and they will accomplish what you could only dream of.

I believe….The song “You Can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you might find you get what you need” by the Rolling Stones is a philosophy that needs to be revisited. Our forefathers who were mostly immigrants from other countries, moved here to make a better life for themselves and their families. Whereas one had nothing they didn’t expect to have anything handed to them without the result of earning it themselves. During the great depression saving pennies a day was a valuable concept that was not considered to be frugal or cheap. Families struggled to feed their families. Friends, families, and neighbors helped each other during these financially insolvent times. Seeing the economy falter the government opted to create jobs and improve the country at the same time. People were proud to be a part of the system.
A new mode of thinking appears to be eroding the rewards and benefit of work. Instant gratification of the lottery and television shows similar to “Who wants to be a millionaire” has warped the concept that makes up the desire to work.
By taking the extra steps to go the extra mile the rewards will follow. Continuing education, an investment in one’s self, working overtime, and helping others. These are the activities that produce results. The extras like a prize winning lottery ticket is fantastic and should always be a welcomed incident. For one drop their whole paycheck each week in anticipation of getting rich quick will surely lose their prize as quickly as they won it.
So as I step off the soapbox keep in mind what the Rolling Stones promoted in their renowned song, and appreciate having food on the table and a roof over your head.

THIS I BELIEVE

There is something I definitely have a belief in, which I hold close to my heart. My belief in God is as strong as it has ever been. The Lord has done so many things for me, to the point where I can’t even count them. He has brought me back from death, made ways for me financially, and blessed me with jobs even when I wasn’t totally qualified for the positions.
When I was in the Navy, I had an allergic reaction from an anthrax shot I received. We were off the coast of Spain during our six-month deployment and we did a chemical and biological exercise. I broke out in hives, which caused my throat to close up. I immediately went into cardiac arrest and CPR was administered for 8 minutes. At that time, there wasn’t a pulse and I was pronounced dead. A medic, who was a friend of mine, was determined to restore my pulse. He continued until there was a pulse and they began the intubation process. My brain has gone with out oxygen during that time; therefore, it caused a lot of damage to my neurological system. There were a series of MRI’s and EEG’s done.
I tend to struggle with my balance and speech at times because of my brain injury. I have gone through hundreds of hours of physical therapy. The good thing is, you would not notice any of it unless I have told you about it. This is one reason why my belief in God is stronger than ever. I understand there are some who do not believe at all and those who maybe afraid. I can only tell you what was done for me because I know without a shout of a doubt; I’m not supposed to be here right now.
Now looking at this from a financial standpoint, there was a time where I was making some decent money and was not worrying about things. After I was medically retired from the Navy, the money I use to receive was no longer coming in. I wasn’t prepared for transitioning out of the military because my intentions were to do twenty years. I was retired as if I did twenty years because I was over twelve years when I had my accident. Now I have worked in various fields for income that has definitely impacted me financially. I have gone through periods where paying my bills became a major struggle for me. So now I had to come to realize that a college degree is highly needed for moving myself into the next gear.
For the most part, the majority of the jobs I applied for, I was hired. I knew I was not fully qualified, but I possessed drive and determination to do the job. Although the other candidates may have had more credentials or knowledge, the Lord saw fit to bless me with the job instead. I know where the Lord has brought me from and I have an idea of where he will take me. Having faith is the name of the game and you must believe. If you believe it; you will receive it.

I believe procrastination will kill me. I believe that if I don't stop putting off the things I don't want to do, it will slowly ruin my life and eventually end it. It started in early childhood with cleaning my room and progressed to homework and other school assignments. After high school I put off going to college and eventually I got a summer job and then started school while still working. Procrastination caused me to flunk and drop out. I then worked full time for two and a half years at a dead-end job that I hated before quitting and getting a part-time, dead-end job that I hate. Now, I attend "college" at ecpi and still put things like assignments and homework. As an adult I have many bills to pay, and I do, but only at the last minute. I'm late all the time and I don't care. I'm constantly stressed because I can't make myself do things I don't want to do. I say procrastination will kill me because I believe it's possible that one day I will put off something important and it will somehow, directly or indirectly, lead to my demise. If I don't stop procrastinating right now, I will fail.
It's
DO or DIE. right?

Which would be like an everyday tragedy of sorts because for the most part, all I've accomplished in life thus far is a nice little chunk of debt and a lingering sense of failure.

Maybe I procrastinate because..

I don't think this is how people are supposed to live. I don't think we are supposed to go to college or get a "career." I don't think we are supposed to do anything other than live our lives and procreate. Sure we can learn, it's our nature to desire knowledge
but I don't think it should be forced. I know I'm pretty far off subject at this point in my impermanent blog response. BUT... I believe that we are wasting our time and our lives.
